Meet Alexis! A 1.5yr old Australian Cattle Dog and American Bully mix. She is the perfect size at 37lbs for all the active adopters out there that are looking for a four legged BFF to join them on all the hiking, biking and camping outings as you explore our beautiful state. Alexis is incredibly smart, well trained and loving so makes for an easy side kick as you explore all the dog friendly establishments in your neighborhood. She walks perfectly on leash and will sit by your side while you enjoy a cold brew at the local pub with friends. Alexis has been living in the city since she was a puppy, but it’s become clear she needs a more suburban lifestyle away from the loud trucks, buses and the constant buzzing of cars and people on the streets 24 hours a day. Alexis is exceptional with kids of all ages, other dogs, and people. She has developed anxiety around city life resulting in GI upset and excessive drooling so another dog in the house will be best to help her gain confidence and feel comfortable. A yard with lots of room for them to run and play together and a home that wants to be with their pooches more often then not will be best for Alexis. Her anxiety has been closely linked to acid reflux and possibly irritable bowel syndrome, which results in these excessive drooling episodes, she has been experiencing. Our hope is with more exercise, less stress, and a loving new family and furry sibling, both will improve. It is something that will need to be monitored with the proper diet as well. Ruby's anxiety has improved with medicine and whoever adopts her will have access to the behavioralist she's currently working with for a few months to help her adapt and continue care.  She is crate-trained, housebroken and a master cuddle bug.  Her favorite thing in the world besides cuddling on the couch, is fetch! She could play for hours and will always bring the ball right back to you. Beach days for this babe would be her dream day, a long hike in the hills with her person or even a group of other dogs/people will blow her mind with happiness and a day ended with a spot next to you on the couch watching a good movie will send her off to sleep a tired and happy pooch. The ideal home for Alexis would be in the "burbs" with a family with  another dog and a yard with plenty of room to play all day. If there are children in the home that would be the icing on this pretty pooches dream cake. Please send us an application if you would like to be considered.
