Being foster based allows us to get to know our dogs. We are able to assess many things like….. Are they good with other dogs? Cats? Kids? Do they like to snuggle or are they more independent. Do they need to live with another dog to be happiest or would they rather be your one and only? So many things go into being a foster parent. It’s more than just providing a temporary home. Foster parents are our eyes and assessors that help us assure we pick the best home for each dog in our care so dog and adopter are matched as forever companions. In Addie’s case we have learned a ton in the weeks she has been in her foster home so we wanted to repost this sweet girl with all the updated info so we can find her happily ever after! Addie is more than dog friendly, she is the pooch that is the life of the dog party for HOURS. All night raves with all her BFF’s are nothing for this 8-10 pound terrier mix. She doesn’t care if they are big or small…. She loves them all so a low active home would not be a good fit. Snuggling after a long day of hiking or playing is a must because Addie is a lap warming master so if you don’t want to allow your dog on the couch or in your lap you are probably not the best home for her. Addie is shy for a hot second and has even reacted with a little nip when an unknown person reaches over her head so a kid free home and one that will give her time to know that you are friend not foe will be needed. The potential Addie has if placed in the correct home is ten fold of where she is now. We see this pretty girl being your paddle boarding partner, your camping buddy and the furball chilling in the basket on the handle bars of your beach cruising bike. Addie is crate trained, potty trained and even has proven she can live with cats if you are able to provide a few gentle reminders that cats don’t like to play like Rhodesian Ridgeback’s but demand the respect as the household master they think they are.
